This intensive two-day workshop introduces you to the wonder of the Wet Plate Collodion Process. An understanding of the chemicals and cameras used, and practical instruction on coating, exposing, developing and varnishing the plate. Participants will learn how to make a series of positive images onto sheets of 5x4 aluminium plate (Tintype) using 19th century chemistry, techniques, and camera equipment.
All cameras and materials used are provided, some understanding of analogue photography would be an advantage - but not necessary.
Participants should expect to leave with 3-6 finished plates at the end of the weekend.
Limited to 4 participants.
Cost: $700 + accommodation & food.
The workshop is being held in a beautiful secluded location, surrounded by lush littoral rainforest on the shores of Swan Lake situated on the NSW South Coast.
